Stand Up For What You Believe In

"If there is no struggle, there is no progress.  Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground.  They want rain without thunder and lightening.  They want ocean without the awful ror of its many waters.  This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.  Power concedes nothing without a demand.  It never did and it never will."

                                                                                                                                                                                         Frederick Douglass

You Can Make a Difference

We believe that no amount of  help is too little, when it is used collectively toward a common goal.  No step is too small.  The journey of a million miles begins with one step. No one is unimportant.  Its not what you have, but rather what you are willing to give.  Time, money, skills and knowledge - all welcome.

To those who much is given, much is required.

To whose who much is given, much is required.  We have for far too long entrusted the responsibility for the future of our people to others.  We have often reasoned that if we are personally ok everything will eventually be ok with out people as a whole.  Well the time is now to change our thinking and to become active in our advancement.  We must now be the change which we wish to see. Join NCBL-DC today and help make that change.
